Both at the conservatory and regarding the harvest the big discussion is about the Albino Armani grapevines.

It's early morning, and in the fresh air the moisture mysteriously exudes from the soil. Footsteps can be heard, a man is walking among the shady rows, he's a wine grower pruning the grapevines, and the ground is green with foliage clippings. During the harvest, the Albino Armani grapevines consecrate a year of work invested in nursing the land, ambitiously anticipating its finest fruits, making sacrifices for a glorious harvest, and now the grapevines give their response. Among the most celebrated grapevines of the Region of Veneto is Casetta, better known as Foja Tonda, which has greatly profited from the Conservatory Project, such that this year it has finally obtained D.O.C. classification: its structure is superb and so is its wealth of fragrances. Next year we will receive our first feedback regarding the quality of several biotypes, selected by the researchers of the Istituto di S. Michele all'Adige. Also Albino Armani’s Nera dei Baisi is awakening ever greater interest, and its production has been increased, in order to better fathom its potential at the Conservatory.

This year's Pinot Grigio vines of the Region of Veneto have some good news to share with us: the grapes have renovated their remarkable panorama of pronounced flavors.
And the grapevines of the Valdadige, thanks to their being cultivated in espalier form, have faced up to abundant September rainfall, and the espalier method has allowed the grapes to be harvested at a perfect time of maturation. In the hills of the Alta Grave Friulana there has been a refreshing, rainy summer, which has helped create a harvest of healthy and very aromatic grapes, rich in fragrances and noble substances: the grapes of the Alta Grave Friulana always profit from a climate characterized by abrupt temperature changes, which is perfect for the aromatic varieties of that region, especially for Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Tocai. These grapes have attracted much attention and have been selected by the Regional Authority for Farming Development (ERSA, Ente Regionale per lo Sviluppo Agricolo), which deals in evaluating the results of microvinifcation, done at the Albino Armani Vineyards. Furthermore, from the grapevines of the Region of Friuli, there is great excitement regarding this year's harvest of Prosecco, which has been grafted onto Merlot vines, and there is considerable enthusiasm regarding the first bunches of Riesling Renano.

U.S. tour: enthusiasm for Albino Armani from over the ocean.

In September the Albino Armani family derived great satisfaction from their trip to visit their United States market: the purpose of the journey was to personally meet with journalists and experts from the New World. The Albino Armani Winery received great recognition for its dedication to high-quality winegrowing, as well as for its ventures in production, which has always been guided by strong family involvement. Top-notch winegrowing magazine journalists, wine writers and wine bloggers showed great interest for Foja Tonda and for the efforts made at the Conservatory to bring back traditional local varieties which were slipping into extinction. Tastings of Foja Tonda 2005, 2006 and 2007 took place in New York, Annapolis, New Jersey, Washington, Detroit and Chicago: and comments made regarding the evolution of Foja Tonda in the bottle were truly gratifying. Also our Prosecco received good recognition, perfectly in keeping with our consolidated growth trend in Italy and in the United States: they called it the perfect libation for parties and celebrations..

Mundus Vini awards Albino Armani once again.

The prestigious international award called Mundus Vini has celebrated the Cuslanus Amarone della Valpollicella Classico 2006 by granting it a gold medal. The second prize, or silver medal, winners were our Chardonnay “Capitel” 2009 and Sauvignon “Campo Napoleone” 2009.

Ancient Grapevines in the Region of Trent: a book on their history and *life story.

On Monday the 20th of December, 2010, at the aula magna of the Fondazione Edumnd Mach all'Istituto Agrario di San Michele all'Adige (Tn), there will be the presentation of the book, precisely entitled “Antichi Vitigni del Trentino”, edited by FEM-IASMA.  The book is a synthesis of long and articulated work, involving the gathering, study and recuperation of ancient grape varieties of the Region of Trent. Ever since 1989, the Albino Armani Wineries have been participating in this project, which, starting as ambitious museum research, today has been transformed into an innovative project for wine research and production. Following speeches made by Andrea Faustini of Cavit Trento and by Giampaolo Girardi, there will be a guided tasting of ancient varieties. ;
