Areas which are adequate for the cultivation of a great Sauvignon are truly rare, and the Magredi area is definitely one of them. The few grape bunches that grow among the stones of the high Grave area attain a full panorama of aroma. Sauvignon - Friuli DOC Grave winemaking takes place by maceration with the skins, in order to maintain all the flavour, offering your palate unique and exciting sensations.
Sensory profile: Yellow in colour, with distinct green flecks. The scent reveals the specific character of the variety: peppers, grapefruit, boxwood and black currant. Fresh, tasty and elegant on the palate.
Food pairings: An ideal accompaniment for tasty vegetable pies, sauced or smoked fish. It is fantastic with any dish based on asparagus.
Service temperature: 10 - 12¡C.
Production zone: Alpi Carniche of the high Grave Friulana
Grape varieties: 100 % Sauvignon Blanc
Soil composition: Loose, well aired soil, mainly composed of characteristic calcareous white coloured river stones from Grave, the result of flooding by the Meduna torrent.
Vineyard - growing systems and principal training forms: Guyot and Casarsa with rigorous winter pruning, and intervention on the vegetation for leaf control apparatus and production. Protection against parasites and soil management protecting the environment.
Harvest: Manual in the last 10 days of September.
Vinification: Cold maceration of the grapes in a controlled atmosphere with minimum contact with oxygen and soft fractional airbag pressing. Fermentation at a controlled temperature and maturation in stainless steel.
Conservation: In standing bottles when consumption is expected within a short time. Otherwise it is suggested to lay the bottle down at a temperature as close as possible to 16 - 18°C in the dark.
Bottle and content: Bordolese bottle of 0,75 lt.
