THE CULTURE OF WINE AND LAND
Sequals, situated the "Alta Grave Friulana" region, has been officially recognized as the new area for producing prosecco: Once again Albino Armani´s intuition has been rewarded!
Albino Armani´s propensity towards experimentation and to research territories with specific and ideal characteristics has produced new results: in the Sequals area of Friuli, which is surrounded by the Carniche Alps, there is a section particularly suited to growing prosecco, and which now has received D.O.C. recognition. Indeed, the climatic characteristics of this territory guarantee a perfect balance between acidity and the PH of the grapes, which are essential bases for an excellent sparkling wine.

Finally the discovery has been made, and as God´s gift deriving from this perfect soil for growing prosecco, Albino Armani´s Friuli vineyard is the author of this novelty. We can call it an "extradry", with a refined and elegant bouquet. It has a full fruity flavor, and sustained sparkling character. As the child of beautiful land, it´s a new promise to be held for now on.

Vintage 2009: a year of surprising excellence

The climate has been anomalous, i.e. with no rain during the last phase of maturation: What perfect luck for all the Albino Armani varieties! The harvest took place in a thoroughly harmonious manner, and various procedures of production were carried out systematically, guaranteeing full efficiency.

The 2009 vintage has surpassed expectations: his Gewurtztraminer, of the “Trentino” series, has reached spectacular results, since it always requires over-maturation on the vine, and this year's Albino Armani Gewurtztraminer fully boasts it´s characteristic honey-like aroma. Also Albino Armani´s Sauvignon friulano awakens of this same type of enthusiasm, due to its particularly intense fragrances.

t was in mid October that the last harvest took place, and this year's "Foja Tonda" (the dialect name for Casetta) was a great surprise for its marvelous sugar content. The normally very delicate procedure of making "Foja Tonda" turned out to be a gift. This was due to the over-maturation on the vines, creating soft tannins and a complex balance, and it conserves its so appreciated freshness, which culminates in full and long-lasting flavor.

CLAPS: both the wine and the aesthetics of the label have received rewards. The Ministry of Graphic Arts considers the label of the Friuli series to be an ideal representative of Italian design presented to the world.

In the world of wine, also the beauty of the bottle is important. Therefore, always in keeping with Albino Armani’s intrinsic finesse, it was the label of the “Claps” bottle that passed a rigorous test, competing with about 1300 others, and it was chosen by the Ministry of Graphic Arts to join the "short-list" of 95 images that present Italian design and graphics to the rest of the world. The international exhibit was housed and promoted by the "Triennale di Milano".

he label of the Albino Armani “Claps” bottle received summa cum laude among an already elite selection of images, which were on display in a 700 m² area at the exhibit called “Per un pugno di Grafica” (For a Fistful of Graphics), which is destined to constitute the embryo of the first Italian archives for graphic works.
As usual, Italy is the land of visual beauty, where they say: "anche l'occhio vuole la sua parte", meaning the eye reserves high priority.
