In the high Grave Friulana territory, to the east of Pordenone and sheltered by the Carniche Alps, one discovers endless pebbles covering the -Magredi". Visitors perceive the area as moon rock steppesÄ truly unique in the world, even geologically speaking. It is a large alluvial area, where the Meduna, Cellina and Tagliamento rivers deposited stones and limestone debris, dragged from the mountains over thousands of years of erosion. Albino Armanięs -Sequals" vineyards are situated here on the high Grave Friulana, where the wilderness is indeed majestic, but where farming can be tough. Those who resist and adapt to the environment are rewarded by the production of excellent wine, with rare and exclusive characteristics. Here the Armani Vineyards cover 87 hectares, planted in neat rows, but the vines struggle in poor soil composed of 80% gravel and stones, locally referred to as .clapsę. This very difficult and harsh terrain has been gained meter by meter from the stones, where the vines are grown with maximum respect for the natural balance and with low yield per hectare. The Armani Vineyards use state of the art and innovative winemaking technology, such as gravity pressing, and the winery is divided into areas of different temperatures. But it is the individual winegrower, the heir of local culture, that really makes the difference. Only he knows the ancient rules of the land, respecting the balance of nature, and is able to deal with extreme climatic conditions, in terms of protecting the plants and investing the necessary labour. Not to forget the intense changes in temperature, which largely contribute to the wineęs distinct and unique aromas. D.O.C Grave Claps wines are a proud product of this territory, resulting from unflagging personal attention and great respect for Mother Nature.
